Prunus armenica ‘Westley’
This self fertile apricot from the Westley/Patterson area of Northern California (once called “The Apricot Capital of the World”), and released in 1974, is excellent eaten fresh and particularly prized dried. Fruit is medium-to-large in size and freestone; very high quality apricot with good color; orange flesh that’s medium-firm and meaty; sweet and flavorful.
A late bloomer that also ripens late in the season (+2 weeks after Blenheim). Fruit ripens all at once – great for a single harvest.
